Activities in Magglingen

The National Sports Centre in Magglingen also offers a variety of sports and leisure activities, with several facilities available for public use. The outdoor swimming pool is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Outdoor sports facilities may also be used, provided they are not reserved by other groups. Around Magglingen/ Biel

Shopping & Essentials

Magglingen has a small grocery store for everyday essentials. For a wider range of shops, supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs, head to Biel/Bienne. Most can be found around the railway station and in the city centre.

Explore Biel/ Bienne

If you have some free time, Biel/Bienne is well worth a visit. Stroll through the charming Old Town, enjoy a walk or swim at Lake Biel, or discover the city’s unique bilingual character and its strong connection to Swiss watchmaking.

If you have a little more time, a boat trip on Lake Biel and a visit to St. Peter’s Island are a wonderful way to explore the region and enjoy the scenery.

The Magglingen funicular connects Magglingen directly with Biel/Bienne, making it easy to explore the city and the lakeside during your free time.

You do not have to travel far to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Magglingen offers wonderful views over Lake Biel and towards the Alps, as well as plenty of opportunities for walking and hiking.
