Venue

The 2026 IKGA European Summer Camp will take place at the National Sports Center in Magglingen, Switzerland. It provides facilities for a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports. Magglingen is situated on a hillside above Biel/Bienne, offering a unique view of the Three Lakes District and the Swiss Alps.

Airports

The major airports in Switzerland are in Zurich and Geneva. You may also use the EuroAirport in Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, which is only a 25-minute bus ride from the Basel train station.

Shuttle Service: If enough people are interested, we will organize buses to provide a shuttle service from one or several airports to Magglingen. When you register for the seminar, please let us know whether you are interested in the shuttle service. If you already have this information, please provide the airport and your estimated time of arrival/departure.

Please note that we will do our best to provide a convenient shuttle service at a reasonable price for everyone. But we cannot guarantee that an option will be available that fits your specific needs. To facilitate our organization, we kindly ask you to travel in groups whenever possible.

We will inform you about the availability and costs of the shuttle services once we have assessed the needs of all participants. You can confirm your shuttle bus registration afterward.

Traveling by Train

Magglingen is situated approximately midway between the airports mentioned above. In the table below, you can find the travel times from the airports to Magglingen as well as the costs for a regular point-to-point ticket (one-way):

Children younger than 6 years old travel for free. Children and teens between 6 and 16 years old get a 50% discount. You can check book your tickets online on the official website of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB).

Early booking discount & Group Tickets: If you book your train early enough, you may benefit from a so-called supersaver ticket (up to 50% discount). Unlike regular point-to-point tickets, these tickets are tied to a specific connection and are not refundable. There is also a limited number of saver day passes, which are valid for a full day and may be cheaper than a regular ticket.
You can also benefit from a 30 % discount if you travel in a group of at least 10 people. Additionally, young adults (under 25 years old) pay half fare on group tickets. You can find more information here.

Traveling by Car

There is a limited number of outdoor parking spaces available in Magglingen. To learn about their location, check the map of the national sports center. Our hotels are buildings #06 and #07 on the map, and training will take place in building #20.

Parking lots P1 – P6 cost CHF 2 / hour and up to CHF 16 / day.
Parking lots P7 – P10 cost CHF 2 / hour and up to CHF 10 / day.
Parking lot P11 is free, but it's about a 40-minute walk from the hotels.

Parking tickets must be purchased online, e.g., using the EasyPark app.

There are also several indoor car parks in Biel/Bienne operated by APCOA Parking. In general, you pay CHF 56 for the first 48 hours, then CHF 1.- / hour (i.e., CHF 105 for 96 hours). Please check their setting conditions.

You may also use one of the many P+Rail parking lots outside of Biel and then take public transportation to Magglingen. You can book your parking space upon arrival in the P+Rail app (iOS / Android), on SBB’s official website, or at a local ticket machine.
Please note that purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a parking space will be available. We thus suggest that you buy your ticket upon arrival.

Here are three suggestions, all about a 30- to 45-minute ride from Magglingen:

Accommodation

Hotel Bellavista

The Bellavista is a sports hotel offering comfortable and practical accommodation. The hotel features single, double rooms, and three-bed rooms. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom (including shower and toilet), a TV, free Wi-Fi, and essential amenities such as towels, hairdryers, and shower products.

Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel is a comfortable, standard hotel offering simple and functional accommodations. It features double, three-bed, and four-bed rooms. Toilets and showers are located in shared facilities on each floor. All rooms have access to free Wi-Fi and are equipped with towels, hairdryers, and shower amenities.

Rooms are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Food & Beverage

Accommodation includes full board. All meals will be served at the Restaurant Bellavista. For lunch and dinner, you can savor a four-course menu including a small salad, soup, one of three main courses (with meat/fish, vegetarian, or a pasta dish), and a dessert. At lunch, you can also assemble your own plate at a salad buffet or enjoy some pizza. Meals also comprise bread, fruit, and water. Please note that other beverages must be paid.
